FAQ
What are your products made from?
Everything is built using high-quality, temperature-resistant thermoplastics (specifically PETG and ASA for the geeks out there). Since these are going into 4Runners that bake in the sun and rattle down washboard trails, I use materials that won't turn into a puddle of goo or shatter the first time you hit a bump. Everything is printed in-house on a fleet of high-end robots that never sleep.
How durable are 3D-printed parts? Won't they break easily?
Fair question. A lot of people hear “3D printed” and picture a flimsy plastic trinket that gives up the first time you look at it wrong.
That’s not what’s happening here.
Every design is prototyped, tested, and trail-abused before it ever makes it onto the site. These parts are built to handle vibration, heat, rough roads, and the occasional accidental kick from a passenger who somehow forgot how legs work.
That said, let’s keep expectations realistic: it’s an interior accessory, not a recovery point. Please do not try to winch your rig out of a mud pit with it. That would be a wildly bad idea.
How should I care for my KodiakForged products?
Nothing complicated here. Just wipe them down with a damp microfiber cloth when you’re cleaning the six layers of trail dust, snack crumbs, and mystery debris out of your rig.
Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or solvents. Your parts are tough, but there’s no reason to start a chemical war in your interior.
How long will it take to process and ship my order?
KodiakForged is a one-man operation, not a giant warehouse staffed by caffeinated wombats.
A lot of parts are made to order, so please allow 3-7 business days for your gear to be printed, cleaned up, packed, and sent on its way.
I move fast. The shipping carriers do whatever it is they do.
Where do you ship from?
Every single order is designed, printed, packed, and shipped from my workshop in Michigan.
No mystery fulfillment center. No outsourcing. No corporate labyrinth. Just real parts, made by a real person, in a real shop.
Can I track my order?
Yep.
As soon as your shipping label is created, you’ll get an email with your tracking number so you can monitor your package’s journey with the same level of intensity normally reserved for weather radar and trail maps.
What is your return policy?
I want you to be stoked with your rig's setup. If you aren't completely satisfied with your gear, reach out within 14 days of receiving your item, and we can get a return or exchange set up (items must be in like-new condition).
Do your products come with a warranty?
Yes. I stand behind the gear I make.
If a part fails during normal installation or trail use because of a manufacturing defect, reach out and I’ll make it right.
If it broke because you decided to use it for something deeply unreasonable… that’s a different conversation.
Are there safety guidelines for the battery & heavy gear mounts?
Yes! While our interior accessories (like dash cubbies) are plug-and-play, our heavy-duty mounts require a bit more planning to keep your rig safe on the trail. Please keep the following in mind:
- Proper Installation: A mount is only as strong as what it’s attached to. Always pre-drill holes and mount heavy gear to solid wood framing or metal. Do not mount 30lb+ batteries to thin plastic trim or particle board.
- Passenger Safety: We highly recommend securing heavy batteries and drawer fridges in dedicated cargo areas or truck beds, away from the immediate passenger cabin, to prevent them from becoming projectiles in the event of a collision.
- Off-Road Use: Our mounts are engineered for rugged off-grid use, but are sold as "Off-Road Use Only" accessories and are not DOT-crash tested. The safety of the installation is the responsibility of the installer. KodiakForged cannot be held liable for damage to vehicles or third-party equipment (like batteries) due to improper installation or extreme trail abuse.
My order arrived damaged, or I received the wrong item. What should I do?
First: sorry. That’s on me, and we’ll fix it.
Send me a message as soon as possible with your order number and a photo of the issue, and I’ll get a replacement headed your way.
Simple, fast, and significantly less painful than arguing with a giant company’s support bot.
Response Time:
KodiakForged is a one-man operation. I usually get back to all messages within 24 hours, unless I'm out off the grid testing gear or buried under a pile of prototype prints.
Custom Builds & Ideas:
Got an idea for a custom mount or molle panel that doesn't exist yet? Drop the details. I'm always looking for new R&D projects.
